Betty Walke's passion for butterflies began at an early age exploring the fields and woods around her suburban Baltimore home. A precocious young artist, she dutifully recorded her observations in pencil and crayon and poured over reference library books to correctly identify species. Butterfly imagery would continue to inspire her throughout her art college and creative communications career.

After a thrilling trip to the monarch migration sanctuaries in Central Mexico, Betty's interest in these fascinating creatures took off. She hopes to share her love of butterflies and to broaden awareness for habitat conservation so that future generations will delight in these winged wonders.
